University of Nottingham
RAC were tasked with removing and replacing the over 100 glass units to bring them to current regulatory standards as part of a full refurbishment for the University of Nottingham.
The building was designed by Sir Michael Hopkins CBE, of Hopkins Architects, this landmark site was first completed in 1994 and occupied by HM Revenue and Customs until 2021.
The exceptional quality of the architectural design and interior spaces has led to the building being listed at Grade II by Historic England, in 2023.
The task involved completing a full dimensional survey of every unit before the glass was removed as they all differed in size to allow RAC to procure the new glass to install after the removal. Site sketches were transferred to CAD before being issued to the manufacturers.
